Pupil Premium at Little Horsted CE Primary School
At Little Horsted CE Primary School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and flourish. The Pupil Premium is additional government funding given to schools based on the number of children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Looked after Children (LAC) and children with parents in the Armed Forces (Service Children).
Nationally, statistics show that pupils who are in receipt of FSMs do less well than their peers. The main objective of this funding is to try and close the attainment gap.
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is allocated to schools for children who:
-
Are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or have been in the past six years
-
Are in care or have previously been in care (LAC)
-
Have parents serving in the armed forces
This funding helps us provide extra support to ensure all children can reach their full potential.
How We Use the Funding
We use Pupil Premium to:
-
Provide targeted academic support and interventions
-
Offer access to enrichment activities
-
Support emotional wellbeing through pastoral care and mentoring
-
Ensure children have the resources they need
Our approach is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child, and we regularly review the impact of our strategies to ensure they are effective.
Working Together
We value strong partnerships with families. If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium, we want to work with you to make sure they receive the best possible support.
